Author Submissions
You warrant when sending us your submissions that any such submissions/works are original to you and that you have the right to submit such Submissions.
The author retains all rights to their submitted work but you entitle both Novel Hovel Press and First Sight imprints to use, publish and distribute such submissions/works and give them sole rights to publish and distribute such works and that the chosen authors refrain from publishing/printing submitted work elsewhere until after the print run that the Novel Hovel Press and First Sight have produced has sold through.

Order Process
The advertising of products on our website constitute an “invitation to treat” rather than a contractual offer.
No contract will come into force between you (the customer) and us (NovelHovelPress) unless and until we accept your order in accordance with the procedure set out in this section. (Order Process)
When you enter into a contract through our website to purchase from us, the following steps must be taken: you must add the products you wish to purchase using the PayPal button then proceed to checkout; once you are registered or logged in, you must select your preferred method of delivery and confirm your order and your consent to the terms of this document: you will be transferred to our payment service provider’s website and our payment provider will handle your payment; we will then send you an initial acknowledgement; and once we have checked whether we are able to meet your order, we will either send you an order confirmation (at which point your order will become a binding contract) or we will confirm by e-mail that we are able to meet your order.
Products
The following type of product are or may be available on our website from time to time: books. Books ordered will be supplied by the Novel Hovel Press.
We may periodically change the products available on our website, and we do not undertake to supply any particular product or type of product.
Pricing:
All prices on NovelHovelPress.com website are for online purchases only.
We will make reasonable efforts to present accurate information but we cannot guarantee the price or our ability to supply any particular book.
Prices are subject to change without notice.
Occasionally publishers may have to change their prices swiftly. In the event that this occurs, or in the event of a pricing error, we will check with you to see if you still wish to receive the item at the new price.
In addition to the price of the products, you may have to pay a delivery charge, which will be notified to you before the contract of sale comes into force.
- Payments
4.1 You must, during the checkout process, pay the prices of the products you order.
4.2. When buying on our website payments may be made via PayPal.
4.3 If you fail to pay to us any amount due under these terms and conditions in accordance with the provisions of these terms and conditions, then we may withhold the products ordered and/or by written notice to you at any time cancel the contract of sale for the products.
4.4. If you make an unjustified credit card, debit card, or other charge-back then you will be liable to pay us, within 7 days following the date of our written request: a) an amount equal to the amount of the charge-back; b) all third party expenses incurred by us in relation to the charge-back (including charges made by our or your bank or payment processor fee of (GBP 25.00 including VAT): and d) all our reasonable costs, losses and expenses incurred in recovering the amounts referred to in this section 4.4. (including without limitation legal fees and debt collection fees). and for the avoidance of doubt, if you fail to recognise or fail to remember the source of an entry on your card statement or other financial statement, and make a charge-back as a result, this will constitute an unjustified charge-back for the purposes of this Section 4.4.
- Deliveries
We will arrange for the products you purchase to be delivered to the delivery address you specify during the check-out process.
Every reasonable effort will be made to deliver your products on or before the date for delivery set out in the order confirmation, or if no date is set out in the order confirmation, within 7 days following the date of the order confirmation, however, we do not guarantee delivery by this date.
We do guarantee that unless there are exceptional circumstances all deliveries of products will be despatched within 30 days following receipt of payment and the date of the order confirmation.
- Returns and Refunds Policy
Should you change your mind about your order, you can return your book within 21 working days of the delivery of your order. This policy is in accordance with the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. A full refund will be given for the returned items providing they are in their original condition and accompanied by a copy of the delivery note or receipt. Any postage costs incurred when returning your items will be at your own cost.
Up to a 21 day period we will be happy to accept items for return in any of the following cases:
The item was found to be damaged or faulty.
We will either replace the item or give you a full refund (including postage costs). Please state which option you prefer.
The item was incorrectly supplied.
If we have made a mistake in fulfilling your order, a full refund (including postage costs) will be given.
In all cases, the Novel Hovel Press should be contacted before returning an item. Items should be returned in their original packaging to: The Novel Hovel Press, 9a London Road, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN13 1AH.
- Customs Charges

If you are ordering goods for delivery outside of the EU, please note that your consignment may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the goods reach the country/region of the destination. Any such charges levied in relation to customs clearance must be borne by you. It is accepted by you that Novel Hovel Press has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. Novel Hovel Press recommend that you check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your online order.
Inspection copies
Desk and exam copies of certain titles are available to lecturers who wish to consider books as course texts. A maximum of three titles may be requested and retained for 28 days’ inspection.
Libraries are also entitled to three free copies of a tile of their choice to hold within their library for the purpose of lending to the general public.
